How it works

Every order, one rail.

Every kitchen has the pass: the rail under the heat lamps where tickets hang and the chef calls “Order up!”. Astrix Shop is the pass for your whole restaurant: every channel's orders on one rail.

  • Zero commission. Your customers order from you, not an app.
  • Every call answered. The order goes straight to your POS.
  • One screen, no tablet stack. Web, phone, register, delivery.

Customers order the way they like

Your own website, a phone call our AI answers, the register, or a delivery app. Same menu, same prices, straight from your POS.

  • Your ordering website runs on your own domain, or on a free astrixshop.com address while you set one up. Already have a website? Your ordering page can live at order.yourdomain.com.
  • Phone AI (an add-on) answers when you are busy and sends the order straight to your POS.
  • Orders rung up at the register show on the same kitchen screen.
  • DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub orders that reach your POS join the rail too, marked with where they came from. Those apps still charge their commission on orders placed through them.

Every ticket lands on one screen

One kitchen screen instead of a stack of tablets. Tap to start, tap when it's ready. Late orders flag themselves.

  • Use a tablet you already have: pair it once with a 6-digit code from your dashboard. If it goes missing, revoke it from the dashboard and it is signed out.
  • Every order shows the same way, whatever it came from, with the source on the ticket.
  • Late orders flag themselves on the screen, and the kitchen gets an alert even when the screen is in the background.

Your POS stays the source of truth

Orders, payments and menu stay in sync with the register you already use. We watch every order, so nothing gets lost.

  • Clover today; Square soon. Your menu and prices come from your POS, so you change them in one place.
  • The kitchen screen shows what your POS has, paid or not. It never writes anything back to your POS.
  • No POS? The counter screen takes walk-in orders: cash is recorded, cards are paid through a Stripe payment link or QR code.

Meet Trix

No ticket left behind.

Printed, cooking, ready, done. And when an order's running late, Trix is the first to tell you. The status is always written out too; Trix never replaces it.

  • Printed

    NEW ORDER

“Order in. Two large pepperoni for Sam, pickup 7:55.”

  • On the rail

    COOKING

“Took a call while you were slammed. It’s on the rail.”

  • Called

    READY

“Order up! #1039 is on the pass.”

  • Spiked

    COMPLETED

    “Spiked. That’s 42 tonight.”

  • Curling

    RUNNING LATE

“#1036 is 4 minutes behind. Want me to text the customer?”

Payments

Clover restaurants take online payments through Clover's own checkout. Everyone else connects their own Stripe account. We never hold your money and never see card numbers.

What we don't do

  • Take a percentage of your orders.
  • Add fees for your customers.
  • Hold payouts. Your processor pays you on its normal schedule.

Your payment processor charges its normal card fee on card orders, whichever way they come in.

Going live

Online ordering opens when you're ready, not before.

Setup checks everything a restaurant needs before it takes an order online. When the last item is done, ordering opens by itself. If something stops working later, like payments disconnecting, online ordering pauses and you are told why, then it reopens by itself once it's fixed.

“Three things left and your doors are open online.”

The checklist

  • Your legal business name and address
  • Sales tax set for every location that takes orders
  • Opening hours, address and phone for each location
  • Payments able to charge (your Stripe account verified, or your POS payments connected)
  • A menu with at least one available, priced item
  • A kitchen screen paired, or order alerts set up
  • A test order that went all the way through: placed, paid in test mode, shown in the kitchen
